Smoky Mountain Resort Ministries is responsible for resort ministry work in Sevier County with the four main areas of attractions being the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. May contain: nature, outdoors, mountain range, mountain, and scenery. ![]() Its purpose is to reveal the presence of God to those who live, work, and play in the resort settings of Sevier County, Tennessee. Mountain Resort Ministries is a Christian ministry that functions as an independent non-profit ministry. Please contact Trails and Facilities Volunteer Coordinator, Adam Monroe, at 82 or for more information and to register for the service opportunities. Individuals and groups are invited to sign up for any of the scheduled workdays and to be added to the Trails and Facilities Volunteer Program mailing list to learn about more opportunities. Volunteers must be over 16 years old to participate. Participants are required to wear sturdy footwear and dress for cold, wet, and changing weather conditions. on the following dates: Friday, March 12 at Smokemont Campground and Collins Creek Picnic Area Saturday, March 13 at Look Rock Picnic Area and Friday, March 19 at Elkmont Campground. The three-hour volunteer opportunities will begin at 9:00 a.m. Pre-registration is required and group size will be limited to eight volunteers per site. ![]() All work will be performed outside and masks will be required when physical distancing cannot be maintained. Spread across 500,000 acres in the Southern Appalachian range, the park is a four-season wonderland, famous for both its colorful spring wildflowers and the fiery blazes of. ![]() Special safety precautions are being taken to follow CDC guidelines pertaining to COVID-19. Jagged mountain peaks, verdant forests and cascading waterfalls set the stage for big adventure in the Great Smoky Mountains, one of America’s best-loved national parks. Tools and safety gear will be provided by park staff. Volunteers will assist staff in performing maintenance on tent pads, removing debris from sites by hand, and using leaf blowers. These service events are ideal for people interested in learning more about the park through hands-on work alongside experienced park staff.
